A. The PianoFun MN competition is an annual event for local young aspiring pianists. It will take place February 24 and 25, 2018, at the Landmark Center in St. Paul. This event will consist of student performances judged by professional musicians with a winner’s recital held on a later date, as well as a non-competitive Freestyle event.

A. The Freestyle category is for performers who want a chance to show off their piano skills without having to compete. This category is also open to other genres of music, such as pop, rock, or jazz, or mixing classical pieces with pieces from other genres.
Q. Who can participate in the PianoFun MN competition and how?
A. Young pianists who are not older than age 14 at the time of the event can apply for the PianoFun MN competition. Pianists will choose the musical group which best suits them, and the winners of the competitive groups will be invited to the Winner's Recital, to be held at a later date.

A. For young pianists, the competition is a good opportunity to publicly perform in a historic and prestigious venue.
